The mesh is the same basic idea on every chain link fence. What changes is the finish, whether you add slats, and what you’re enclosing.
Galvanized Silver Chain Link
Best for: Property lines, acreage, and keeping costs down.
The traditional silver finish. Galvanizing coats the steel in zinc so it holds up to our wet winters. It’s the most economical way to fence a large area, and it follows slopes and hillsides well.
Chain Link With Privacy Slats
Best for: Privacy on a budget, or screening storage and work areas.
Slats weave through the mesh to block most of the view. You get the strength of chain link with much of the privacy of a solid fence. We’ve installed them in green and in white.
Pool and Patio Enclosures
Best for: Keeping kids and pets out of the pool area.
A chain link enclosure keeps a pool or hot tub separate from the rest of the yard while you can still see in from the house. Black chain link keeps it from looking like a cage.
Why Chain Link Still Makes Sense
Chain link is hard to beat for the money. It keeps dogs in, marks your property line, and lets light and air through, so it won’t shade your garden or block the view from your windows. It also shrugs off the wind that can push on a solid fence.
If privacy is the goal, add slats or look at our wood fencing. Standard chain link is see-through by design.

Chain link adapts to tricky ground better than most fences. We’ve set it along the top of block and concrete retaining walls and run it down steep yards. The mesh follows the grade, so you don’t get the stair-step gaps you’d see with solid panels.
